Co-founder Coaching

I work with teams of founders and executives who are committed to self-discovery and growth, and willing to do the work to communicate openly, build trust and take interpersonal risk, and get on the same page and stay there.

Whether you’re designing a new partnership or shoring up a years-long one, you sense that more openness, deeper trust, and smoother collaboration is possible. You want to spend less energy on the partnership itself so you can focus more on what you’re building together. We will develop a custom program to meet your needs based on the following steps:

  1. Create a safe space to uncover what’s really going on
  2. Develop new rules of engagement
  3. Build capacity for better collaboration, communication, and tools for repair

The engagement will consist of joint coaching sessions where we will work through tough issues as a team, as well as 1v1 sessions I’ll conduct with each partner at the outset and on an as needed basis.

Customized high-impact executive offsites and retreats that strengthen team unity, commitment, vision, and skills. They’re also a lot of fun. Focus areas include:

Enneagram for Teams

Customized 1/2- to 3-day trainings, using the enneagram to develop deep insights into individual and team culture, values and barriers, empowering your team with a deeper understanding of themselves and each other, and highlighting potential avenues to grow and develop.

I’ll work with each member of your team to get clarity on their enneagram type, shedding light on each person’s core motivations, behaviors, fears, blind spots, communication style, decision making framework, and interpersonal patterns. From this jumping off point, the workshop will be comprised of mini-lectures, pair and group activities, and facilitated discussions, designed to help your team:

  • Communicate and deliver feedback more effectively
  • Manage and repair conflict
  • Increase emotional intelligence
  • Understand each member’s strengths, blind spots, and work style
  • Make effective decisions to get better, quicker results

The Enneagram is a powerful, internationally recognized coaching tool encompassing nine diverse archetypes of leadership rather than a single style, or assumption, of what good leadership looks like. Each of the nine Enneagram Types represents a worldview and an archetypal way of thinking, feeling and acting in relation to the world, others and oneself. It is more than a profile of traits or behaviors, as it delves deeper into the motivations, defenses and fears that lie in the often-unconscious area of our personality.

We hired David to create and lead our company's first Executive Offsite and now we couldn't imagine running one without him.
